Applicants must qualify according to Saskatchewan Housing Corporation’s policies and guidelines for Social Housing. Income limits must not exceed the Saskatchewan Household Income Maximums (SHIMs), and the asset limit for Senior households is currently $300,000. Seniors who do not meet the eligibility criteria for the Social Housing Program may be eligible for other housing programs, and should contact the Housing Authority for more information.
Rent is calculated at 30% of gross household income, and includes heat, water/sewer, and laundry. Security Deposits are collected for each suite. Charges apply for electricity, parking, and trash removal.
Tenants are encouraged to purchase insurance so they are protected in the event of a fire or other incident. Diefenbaker Place, and all Melfort Housing Authority properties, are non-smoking, and pets are not allowed.

- Each suite has a kitchen, with stove and refrigerator; bathroom, living room, bedroom, and small storage area.
- Laundry rooms, with washers and dryers, are located conveniently in each wing, for the tenants’ use.

- A number of suites have been converted for wheelchair accessibility.

Rent is calculated at 30% of monthly household income. Security deposits in the amount of $326.00 are collected for each unit. Tenants may qualify for employment and/or heating allowance deductions. Tenants are responsible for all utility services – heating, electricity, and water/sewer.
Tenants are encouraged to purchase insurance so that they are protected in the event of a fire or other incident. Wesley Place, and all Melfort Housing Authority properties, are non-smoking, and pets are not allowed.
